Examination – Evaluation Methods

Semester end theory and practical examinations are conducted as per the examination schedule. Principal will act as  the chief Suparendent of all the examinations. To improve reliability validity of education and also extract the skills of students the following evaluation system has been implemented. CIA – Continues Internal Assessment & SEE – Semester end Examination. The ratio of CIA & SEE is   30 :70  for  PG whereas for UG it is 40 : 60. The CIA marks are distributed for UG and PG as follows

 Two internal examinations are conducted with 1 ½ hrs duration for 40 Marks. The average of the two internal examinations were calculated for 20 marks only.
The objective test is conducted for 10 marks with 30 minutes duration.
One or two activities are conducted and assessed by the faculty of the concerned course. Activities includes Assignments, Class room seminars, Group Discussions, Quiz, Study projects, Web assignments, Plickers  etc.

SEE Valuation :

UG answer scripts are evaluated by one external examiner, whereas PG script by two external examiners.  Average of the two valuated marks are considered. If there is more than 20% variation in the two valuations, scripts are sent for the third valuation.  The valuators are belongs to other district colleges

Practical  Evaluation :

UG odd semester  practical skills were evaluated by one internal examiner  and even semester by  two examiners (one internal and one external examiner).PG practical skills were evaluated by two examiners for all semesters.

Revaluation & Personal Identification:.

The students are permitted to apply for revaluation of their answer scripts if they are not satisfied with the valuation.
The students are required to pay the prescribed amount for each course separately in which they sought revaluation.
If they have any doubt about their course, personal identification facility is provided. For availing this facility they have to pay the prescribed amount for each course separately.

Instant examination:

Instant examinations are conducted only for the UG final year regular out going students immediately after declaration of final results.
If any student fail in any two papers of any semester (during the regular study of her entire programme ) is permitted to appear for instant examination.
Generally instant examination will be scheduled within 20 days after the declaration of final year results.
The students are required to pay the prescribed amount for each course separately to appear for instant examination.

Moderation by Grafting facility is given only to the PG students.
This facility is given to a regular student, if she fails in the semester due to lack of  maximum two marks in only one course.
These two marks will be reduced from a course in which highest marks are obtained by the student.

Suspected Malpractice cases:

These cases are to be dealt as per University Guidelines.
Malpractice committee will consist of the Principal, the controller of the examinations, and three Academic council members.

For UG  CBCS system,  UGC recommended  10-point grading system is followed

SGPA   - (Semester Grade Point Average ) It is a measure of work done in a semester
SGPA = Total credit earned by the student  / Total credits of the course
               Credits Earned = Credits of the course X grade point

CGPA : (cumulative Grade Point Average ) It is a measure of overall cumulative
             performance of a student in overall semesters.

CGPA = it is a ratio of total credit points secured by a student in various courses in all
              semesters to the  total credits of all courses in all the semesters.

  • Grade is awarded separately for Part-1, Part-2, &  Part – 3.
  •  Provisional Certificate and Award of Degree will be counter signed by the
       controller of examinations of Affiliated University .
 Degrees are awarded by the college by the name of Affiliating University.
